Now onboarding pilot partners in energy and heavy industry — Pilot program
Dawn view of a midstream compressor station.

The station, optimized.

Adaptive reinforcement learning for energy and heavy industry, running at the edge.

The problem

Controllers optimize units. Nobody optimizes the station.

Unit controllers protect the machine. How many units run, which ones, and at what split is still a judgement against yesterday's conditions. Static models drift as ambient, load, and composition change.

Inside the flow

A physics-grounded twin of every pipe and unit.

Network flow model, calibrated to your data. Pressure-coloured flow lines through the yard, with the gas drawn as white particles. Solved at the segment level.

The machine

Learns how your machines actually behave, and keeps learning as they change.

One policy per unit, per site. It keeps up as maps foul and drivers drift. Reinforcement learning grounded in the network model — not a language model guessing at setpoints.

The decision

6–9%station fuel reduction

The supervisory result on a typical station.

At the edge

The search runs on a GPU beside the station.

No cloud in the control path. A setpoint never depends on a round trip off site.

Bounded authority

Setpoints only, clamped to your band.

If the heartbeat drops, control returns to the incumbent controller.

At the edge

Thousands of candidate trajectories per decision, on a GPU at the asset.

No cloud in the control path. The search runs beside the station, and a setpoint never depends on a round trip off site.

Poster until the interactive model is added.

Bounded authority

Narrow authority, enforced in the runtime.

  • Setpoints only
  • Clamped to your band
  • Fail to incumbent

OmniPath writes setpoints inside a band you set. If the heartbeat drops, control returns to the incumbent controller. The safety layer is untouched, and OmniPath makes no SIL claim.

OmniPath sits above the existing control stack and writes setpoints only
  1. Level 4Cloud trainingRL pipelines, model registry, signed artifact store. Delivers downward into the DMZ only.
  2. DMZSecurity DMZOne-way, signed-boot verification, auditable.
  3. Level 3 — supervisory · OmniPathOmniPathSupervisory optimization — unit staging, load split, speed and pressure setpoints. Supervisory cadence of seconds to minutes. Receives signed models from the DMZ; reads process data; writes setpoints down into the regulatory layer and nowhere else.
  4. Level 3 — where presentExisting APC / MPCCoexists with OmniPath, or is retained as the fallback target.
  5. Level 2 / 1 — unchangedDCS regulatory controlPID, cascade, ratio and override, with operator HMI and historian. DeltaV, Experion PKS, CENTUM VP, System 800xA, PlantPAx. Modules execute every 100 ms to 1 s. Receives setpoints and retains full manual override.
  6. Level 1 — independent · unchangedProtection layerThree independent functions, none of them connected to OmniPath: the safety system (SIS, ESD, fire and gas, HIPPS); anti-surge and governor turbomachinery control, working to the surge control line with recycle; and machinery protection for vibration and temperature per API 670. Protective response is 10–50 ms. There is no write path from OmniPath.
  7. Level 0The processCompressors, drivers, valves, transmitters.

One edge stack designed to consolidate historian, emissions reporting and optimization subscriptions.

Roadmap

The RL core.

Record

Available

OmniPath Ledger, an open-core historian (Apache-2.0).

  • Performance & healthAvailable
  • Power / 12CPAvailable
  • Loop readinessAvailable

Report

Available

Emissions. TIER/AQM and GHGRP reporting from historian data, with a hash-chained audit trail.

Wendy Technology partnership. Runs on WendyOS / Wendy BI.

Open-Source AI. Open historian. No software bill.

Run open-weight AI on site

Ask your historian questions in plain English. The assistant runs NVIDIA Nemotron locally on the edge box, read-only, with no cloud and no control actions.

Own your historian

OmniPath Ledger is an open-source (Apache-2.0) edge historian that replaces your historian license fees.

Emissions reporting without the software bill

A tamper-evident, hash-chained emissions record that can comply with Alberta TIER and GHGRP reporting.

Pump stations

The same supervisory layer, on liquids.

Staging, speed versus throttling, and system-curve drift — above the protection you already run. Compressor stations are the first deployment. The same bounded layer applies wherever units are staged against a live constraint.

Pilot

Three stages. You control the promotions. Every stage has an exit criterion, and nothing writes to the process until the one before it has been met.
